What I do
  • Art-photography – pretty well everything you see is for sale, and it all makes beautiful prints. (A great gift!)
  • Portraiture: you and I will produce something special, for you, or for someone you love.
  • Ask me anything: private commissions welcome.
Status Report

Two exhibitions booked for this Autumn — more on that below — have required considerable preparation. I feel so grateful for the opportunities.

That said, I have done less photography of late, with many distractions, some good, some less so, and some of them of my own choosing. It has been, for example, three months since my last confession blog.

I have loved my portraiture project, and I believe, in all humility, that my clients and I have found some depth to them which one doesn't always see. Plus, the sessions are just fun. Two things: i) it's always good to have recent portraits of yourself; ii) the best time is now. Contact info above.

I have done dances, live performances, very difficult work in uncontrolled conditions, and just loved it. I have another of those upcoming. You can find a few of these on Instagram using the hashtag ,#ctLowDance. Also, several previous blogs have featured this work.

Dawn/sunrise: still my time of day.

I often wake early. And I love this light.

Sailboat – Dusk Return to Harbour

Away on a mini-sabbatical, I lingered at dusk longer than I thought necessary, for strictly photographic purposes, next-to-no light remaining, but I liked it there.

A difference with dusk photography was: more people around me, on a pier, at Port Dover. And then this sailboat glided past, on its way to bed for the night.

And two mornings later, I just wanted to roll over in bed, or to put on a kettle, and the skies did not encourage me to venture out of doors. Among other things, it was raining, although by the time I got to the pier, the rain had moved on, but I could still see it.

Upcoming Exhibitions

At the moment, none of the works in this blog will be on exhibit this Fall. The first show is at the O'Connor West Gallery (at Sotheby's International Realty office in Gananoque), possibly starting within a week or two. I will announce the opening (elsewhere) as soon as I know the date.

Then, I apparently have a spot for the 3-day Holiday Artisan Show & Sale, by Arts Hub Brockville, Fri.-Sun., starting Nov. 29. (Hint: put it in your calendar.)

Subscribe

I would love it if you were to subscribe to this blog, and to refer friends; art collectors may find this interesting.

You may wish to look through my larger portfolio. Almost everything is for sale. I favour large wall art, and also deal in books and other small items: prints, notecards, and postcards.

Check out my current Portraiture project. My next model is you. (Yes. I mean you).
